Erin Meehan
Erin Meehan a senior U.S. Navy Cyber Officer with over 25 years of operational leadership in cyber operations, space operations, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence across the Indo-Pacific, European, African, and Middle East theaters. She currently serves as Director of the Commander’s Action Group at U.S. Cyber Command, advising the Combatant Commander on vision, strategic priorities, and messaging for the Executive Branch, Congress, Department of Defense, industry, academia, and international partners. Previously, she directed over 900 personnel at Fleet Cyber Command, overseeing more than 2,000 cyber operations and leading integrated cyber and space planning, while managing an $800 million budget in support of national-level missions.
An accomplished scholar and educator, she holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Humanities from Salve Regina University and a B.S. in English Literature from the U.S. Naval Academy. She has taught at both the U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Naval War College, serving as Associate Chair of the English Department at USNA and founding the Rochefort Group at NWC. Her teaching portfolio spans literature, rhetoric, cyber science, information warfare, and the socio-economic impacts of cybersecurity. She is the recipient of multiple teaching awards, including the Class of 1951 Military Faculty Teaching Excellence Award and the William P. Clements Award for Excellence in Education.
Throughout her career, she has combined operational expertise with academic insight, mentoring hundreds of officers and midshipmen while advancing thought leadership on cyber determinism, ethics, and the intersection of technology and society. Her publications, invited lectures, and fellowships reflect a commitment to bridging the military, academic, and policy communities to strengthen national security and cultivate the next generation of leaders.
