More than 100 admitted students came to mingle with faculty, staff and other admitted students as part of their decision-making process this summer. The Meet & Greet, the first ever event of this kind for all students admitted to programs within GW’s College of Professional Studies, was a resounding success.

The event included networking opportunities with future classmates, remarks from College leadership, an introduction to student services, as well as program-specific presentations.

Welcoming remarks were made by Dean Ali Eskandarian and other senior leadership. Representatives from the following departments gave presentations and were available to answer student questions:

• CPS Admissions
• GW Office of Financial Assistance
• GW Office of Military and Veteran Student Services
• CPS Student Services
• CPS Career Services

“I was very pleased by the strong turnout for the event,” said Cyrus Homayounpour, Associate Dean for Marketing and Enrollment Management. “We organized it to help support our admitted students. We wanted to give them the opportunity to ask questions and interact with us directly. Of course, we hoped they would commit to their programs and register for fall. We did see strong evidence of enrollment commitments both at the event and afterwards.”

Students asked questions and efficiently gathered information all in one evening. Many of them committed to their program of choice and registered for fall classes with the guidance of staff at the event.
