Congratulations to Mark A. Morgan, a CPS Homeland Security master's program degree faculty member, who was recently nominated by President Trump to head the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE).

Morgan is a highly accomplished senior executive with more than 30 years of professional experience. His experience includes a distinguished law enforcement career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a Special Agent, where he was a high-ranking official in the Inspection and Training Divisions. He is also a 10-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, both active duty and reserve.

While this is a new appointment as Acting Director of ICE, which he began in late May, Morgan was previously appointed by President Obama to run the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He will permanently secure the position of Director once he is confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
