Congratulations to our marketing team for winning a Bronze Award in the Strategic Recruitment Marketing Plan category from UPCEA (University Professional and Continuing Education Association).

The UPCEA Marketing Awards program recognizes the top marketing and creative work across the Association’s membership. This year, UPCEA honored 173 recipients with Marketing Awards for their excellence in 27 awards categories across eight divisions.

The award was presented at the 2019 UPCEA Marketing and Enrollment Management Seminar on December 5 in New Orleans for “Pardot: The Next Phase of the Recruitment Journey.”

The award recipients, all members of the marketing and recruitment team in GW’s College of Professional Studies were:

  • Hanna McCathren, former senior marketing technology specialist (currently GW's salesforce success coach in the Digital Transformation Office);
  • Erick Watt-Udogu, marketing manager; and
  • Jeff Zitomer, marketing manager.

The award recognized the team’s work implementing Pardot, a new marketing automation tool, within the existing TargetX/Salesforce environment. CPS wanted to continue improving the student engagement experience using the power of technology. Pardot provided the ability to add drip campaigns, create customized grading and scoring metrics, as well as a number of other useful features to improve team efficiencies and student experiences.

“The grading and scoring modules were key to helping us understand our applicant pool. After creating custom, weighted criteria for Pardot, we had a much more accurate way to sort the quality of our prospects and focus our efforts,” said Erick Watt-Udogu, marketing manager and a major instigator in pushing the team to implement Pardot technology.
