Publishing Career Panel

Online Alumni Panel

What are the skills needed for a successful career in publishing, today and over the next decade? Join us on March 26th at 6:30 pm for an engaging and informative look at publishing careers through the experiences of graduates of GW’s Masters of Professional Studies in Publishing program. Our alumni and participants will engage in a discussion on the profession of publishing, developing your career, finding a mentor, and mentoring others. We’ll address key questions such as: What are the key skills needed for successful careers in publishing in the next ten years? Has publishing shifted from a ‘trade’—an apprenticeship, learned mostly on the job—to a ‘profession’—learning and applying a body of relevant skills and best-practices? What is the value of a masters in publishing for your career?

GW Publishing graduates learn not only skills in publishing, but are prepared for managerial and leadership positions in a wide variety of publishing industry sectors, establishing them as a strong voice within their organization. Discover how the masters in publishing program contributes to our alumni’s career growth and expands opportunities for promotion and advancement.
